Title: Guns, Germs, and Steel Pdf The Fates of Human Societies

“Artful, informative, and delightful.... There is nothing like a radically new angle of vision for bringing out unsuspected dimensions of a subject, and that is what Jared Diamond has done.” - William H. McNeil, New York Review of Books“An ambitious, highly important book.” - James Shreeve, New York Times Book Review“A book of remarkable scope, a history of the world in less than 500 pages which succeeds admirably, where so many others have failed, in analyzing some of the basic workings of culture process.... One of the most important and readable works on the human past published in recent years.” - Colin Renfrew, Nature“The scope and the explanatory power of this book are astounding.” - The New Yorker“No scientist brings more experience from the laboratory and field, none thinks more deeply about social issues or addresses them with greater clarity, than Jared Diamond as illustrated by Guns, Germs, and Steel. In this remarkably readable book he shows how history and biology can enrich one another to produce a deeper understanding of the human condition.” - Edward O. Wilson, Pellegrino University Professor, Harvard University“Serious, groundbreaking biological studies of human history only seem to come along once every generation or so. . . . Now [Guns, Germs, and Steel] must be added to their select number. . . . Diamond meshes technological mastery with historical sweep, anecdotal delight with broad conceptual vision, and command of sources with creative leaps. No finer work of its kind has been published this year, or for many past.” - Martin Sieff, Washington Times“[Diamond] is broadly erudite, writes in a style that pleasantly expresses scientific concepts in vernacular American English, and deals almost exclusively in questions that should interest everyone concerned about how humanity has developed. . . . [He] has done us all a great favor by supplying a rock-solid alternative to the racist answer. . . . A wonderfully interesting book.” - Alfred W. Crosby, Los Angeles Times“An epochal work. Diamond has written a summary of human history that can be accounted, for the time being, as Darwinian in its authority.” - Thomas M. Disch, The New Leader Jared Diamond is professor of geography at UCLA and author of the best-selling Collapse and The Third Chimpanzee. He is a MacArthur Fellow and was awarded the National Medal of Science.

"Fascinating.... Lays a foundation for understanding human history."―Bill Gates

In this "artful, informative, and delightful" (William H. McNeill, New York Review of Books) book, Jared Diamond convincingly argues that geographical and environmental factors shaped the modern world. Societies that had had a head start in food production advanced beyond the hunter-gatherer stage, and then developed religion --as well as nasty germs and potent weapons of war --and adventured on sea and land to conquer and decimate preliterate cultures. A major advance in our understanding of human societies, Guns, Germs, and Steel chronicles the way that the modern world came to be and stunningly dismantles racially based theories of human history. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the Phi Beta Kappa Award in Science, the Rhone-Poulenc Prize, and the Commonwealth club of California's Gold Medal.

What has caused civilizations to differ? Here is an author with an inquisitive mind. He searches, not how human races are different, but how they got there. What are the mechanisms that drove their various civilizations in such different trajectories? There exist only a limited number of plants and mammals that lend themselves to domestication and their availability determines the chances of hunter-gatherers to turn into a settled society and to progress in further advancement. In ancient times, if those essential domesticates were not present on your continent, you were indeed a have-not. In these pages you travel around the world and witness, how such factors have favored some sections of humanity more than others. This book is a wellspring of information about where we come from and the author distributes it out of a basket of abundant knowledge. You witness the changing face of humanity, usually under the passionate hand of brutality, from Khoisans to Bantus in Africa, from Negritos to Austro-Asians and Austronesians in the Far East, from the Ainus to Japanese, and then of course in that collision of the white man with the Redskins. The incredible judgment dispensed by Francisco Pizarro upon the Incas, supposedly in honor of the Church and the Holy Roman Emperor, will make you shake your head for a long time.In contrast to such scholarly research, it is hard to stomach the tasteless comments in some of the one-star reviews of this book. They remind you of what the Bible says about pearls and where you are not to cast them. The only persuasive explanation for the wealth gap between the West and the rest Two decades ago a UCLA geography professor named Jared Diamond published Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies. Diamond hypothesized that the arc of human history was dramatically shifted by geographic, environmental, biological, and other factors, resulting in the worldwide dominance of the leading industrial powers during the past 500 years. The book won a 1997 Pulitzer Prize and quickly became a New York Times bestseller. Why is economic development so uneven around the world?Diamond posed questions fundamental to the experience of the human race. “Why did wealth and power [among nations] become distributed as they now are, rather than in some other way?” “[W]hy did human development proceed at such different rates on different continents?” “[W]hy were Europeans, rather than Africans or Native Americans, the ones to end up with guns, the nastiest germs, and steel?” In his award-winning book, Diamond posited a “unified synthesis”—a unified field theory of history. Drawing from his wide-ranging knowledge of medicine, evolutionary biology, physiology, linguistics, and anthropology as well as geography, he surveyed the history of the past 13,000 years and identified plausible answers to the questions he had posed. In the process, he wrote what I consider to be the single most illuminating book on the history of the human race.Academic critics howledHowever, academic critics howled shortly after the publication of Guns, Germs, and Steel: They referred to supposed errors in geography and history, which I find largely pointless. For example, geographers complained that Diamond referred to Eurasia as a single continent rather than separately to Asia, North Africa, and Europe. That’s nitpicking, as far as I’m concerned. And many of these “errors” could simply be differences of opinion. Academics are unbearably dogmatic and dismissive of those who reject their pet theories. Some accused him of racism, although he rejected racist explanations early, forcefully, and often. That criticism is not only unsupported by Diamond’s book, it’s insulting to the reader. The most common and far-reaching complaint was that Diamond had succumbed to the heresy of “environmental determinism.” Understandably, Diamond grounded his argument in geographic and environmental factors—but he repeatedly cited numerous other influences as well. Ultimately, of course, everything we humans do, and everything we’ve done in the millions of years since our ancestors first climbed out of the trees, has been environmentally determined. There were complaints that Diamond had overlooked the contrast between temperate and tropical zones (he didn’t) and that he had only explained what happened 500 years ago but not subsequently (untrue). It might appear that at least some of Diamond’s critics never read the book. However, the most aggravating criticism was that he had ignored the motives that led the industrial nations to undertake colonialism and imperialism on a broad scale. Diamond addressed only the means that enabled the colonial powers to dominate, not the reasons why they chose to do so. To my mind, that’s no error. He didn’t pretend to explain colonialism and imperialism, merely to describe how it had become possible. Is it possible that most of these academic critics were simply bitter that Diamond hadn’t cited their own specialized research? The roots of academic criticismThough the critics undoubtedly uncovered a misplaced fact or unwarranted conclusion here and there through the book, the errors were exceedingly minor in the context of Diamond’s expansive hypothesis. It should be clear to any dispassionate reader that the academic reaction stemmed, above all, from narrow-mindedness and jealousy. The world of academia today is atomized. Specialties, sub-specialties, and sub-sub-specialties abound. It’s not unusual for a scholar to build a career on the study of a single obscure question that, when answered, will be of interest to virtually nobody. Interdisciplinary studies are frowned upon in most academic circles. Generalists are regarded as “not serious.” And scholars who write popular books, must less bestsellers, can expect a chilly reception from their peers.A wealth of meaning behind the titleTo understand where the academic critics went wrong, it’s useful to look at what Diamond signified by his title, Guns, Germs, and Steel. Early in his book, he dwells on the confrontation between the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro and the Inca god-king Atahuallpa. “The immediate reasons for Pizarro’s success included military technology based on guns, steel weapons [such as swords and daggers], and horses; infectious diseases endemic in Eurasia; European maritime technology; the centralized political organization of European states; and writing. The title of this book will serve as shorthand for those proximate factors.”Diamond’s argument in a nutshellIn a Prologue, Diamond poses the question at the heart of this book. He quotes a friend in what is now Papua New Guinea from a conversation in 1972, when he was studying bird evolution there: “‘Why is it that you white people developed so much cargo [goods] and brought it to New Guinea, but we black people had little cargo of our own?'” To answer the question, Diamond begins his story around the year 11,000 BCE, when the last Ice Age was drawing to a close and human beings were beginning to form villages in a few places around the world. It’s unclear whether the formation of villages preceded the deliberate cultivation and production of food, or vice versa. However, regardless of the sequence, that shift from hunter-gatherer society to agriculturally based settlements set in motion the course of events that have led to the “civilization” in which we live.Diamond argues, convincingly, that the much greater availability of domesticable plants and large animals in Eurasia than in sub-Saharan Africa and the Americas. Furthermore, he explains that the east-west orientation of Eurasia from the Bering Strait to the Atlantic Ocean made it possible for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry to spread quickly to distant lands. By contrast, the north-south orientation of the Americas and sub-Saharan Africa—and the presence of barriers such as the Sahara Desert, the Panamanian Isthmus, and the deserts of northern Mexico and southwestern United States—impeded the spread of these (and, later, other) new technologies to the extremities of those continents. The advent of food production enabled the development of ever-larger settlements. This, in turn, spelled the emergence of labor specialization and eventually the growth of empires as well as the appearance and spread of communicable diseases contracted from domesticated animals. Those differences in historical development eventually led to the “guns, germs, and steel” that made Eurasian dominance possible—and dictated the huge differences in economic development between what today we call East and West.Guns, Germs, and Steel is crammed with facts and densely written. It doesn’t make for light reading. But if you have any interest in understanding how the world came to be as it is, you’ll find this book highly rewarding.

Title: War with Russia? Pdf From Putin & Ukraine to Trump & Russiagate
Author: Stephen F. Cohen
Published Date: 2019-02-01

Praise for War With Russia? “A fantastic new book, which you should read.” —Tucker Carlson “Cohen sees himself as a balancer, getting readers to see the other side. He laments what he terms ‘Russophobia’ among much of the American political class as well as high-profile journalists and academics. … At times, Cohen is a provocateur, but if he compels us to sharpen our analysis by examining a contrarian position, this is not such a bad thing. He often brings to light questions that others have neglected. He is especially adept at taking sometimes unfocused or ideologically eccentric views emanating from Russia and turning them into succinct, declarative statements. This alone is helpful. In our current volatile climate, dissenting voices are necessary to the conversation.”—Military Review journal, review essay by Robert F. Baumann, PhD “The title of Cohen’s book is intended not as a prophecy but a warning. In the overexcited debate about Putin and Trump, Cohen chooses to eschew moderation because he believes that in practice that results in conformity with an anti-Russia narrative that is not only wrong but dangerous. This book will delight his supporters and enrage his opponents, while readers of a moderate persuasion will be able to admire the passion and tenacity of his resistance to the trend towards provoking war with Russia.” —Irish Times, reviewed by Geoffrey Roberts, emeritus professor of history at University College Cork and a member of the Royal Irish Academy "It’s a page-turner."—Consortium News, reviewed by Ann GarrisonPraise for Stephen F. Cohen’s BooksBukharin and The Bolshevik Revolution: A Political Biography “This magnificent book will come to be regarded … as one of the two or three really outstanding studies in the history of the Soviet Union of the past 25 years.”—The New York Review of BooksRethinking the Soviet Experience “[Cohen] clarifies Russian issues better than anyone has in the past decade.”—Cleveland Plain DealerSovieticus: American Perceptions and Soviet Realities “A model of scholarly journalism, sound and wonderfully readable.”—Publishers WeeklyFailed Crusade: America and the Tragedy of Post-Communist Russia “A blistering, brilliant, and deeply felt critique of America’s decade-long daydream of a Russia in transition.”—Kirkus ReviewsThe Victims Return “A striking memoir … Russians today are inheritors of an unspeakably immense crime, and Cohen engages fully — and personally — with the debate on the way they continue to grapple with their Stalinist legacy.”—The New Yorker Soviet Fates and Lost Alternatives “An extraordinarily rich book …an absolutely vital beginning point for anyone interested in a serious study of political and foreign policy developments involving Russia.”—Slavic Review “Cohen’s ideas about Russia, which once got him invited to Camp David to advise a sitting president, now make him the most controversial expert in the field.”—The Chronicle Review Stephen F. Cohen is Professor Emeritus of Politics at Princeton University, where for many years he was also director of the Russian Studies Program, and Professor Emeritus of Russian Studies and History at New York University. He grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky, received his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Indiana University, and his Ph.D. at Columbia University. Cohen’s other books include Bukharin and the Bolshevik Revolution: A Political Biography; Rethinking the Soviet Experience: Politics and History Since 1917; Sovieticus: American Perceptions and Soviet Realities; (with Katrina vanden Heuvel) Voices of Glasnost: Interviews With Gorbachev’s Reformers; Failed Crusade: America and the Tragedy of Post-Communist Russia; Soviet Fates and Lost Alternatives: From Stalinism to the New Cold War; and The Victims Return: Survivors of the Gulag After Stalin. For his scholarly work, Cohen has received several honors, including two Guggenheim fellowships and a National Book Award nomination. Over the years, he has also been a frequent contributor to newspapers, magazines, television, and radio. His “Sovieticus” column for The Nation won a 1985 Newspaper Guild Page One Award and for another Nation article a 1989 Olive Branch Award. For many years, Cohen was a consultant and on-air commentator on Russian affairs for CBS News. With the producer Rosemary Reed, he was also project adviser and correspondent for three PBS documentary films about Russia: Conversations With Gorbachev; Russia Betrayed?; and Widow of the Revolution. Cohen has visited and lived in Soviet and Post-Soviet Russia regularly for more than forty years.

Is America in a new Cold War with Russia? How does a new Cold War affect the safety and security of the United States? Does Vladimir Putin really want to destabilize the West? What should Donald Trump and America’s allies do?

America is in a new Cold War with Russia even more dangerous than the one the world barely survived in the twentieth century. The Soviet Union is gone, but the two nuclear superpowers are again locked in political and military confrontations, now from Ukraine to Syria. All of this is exacerbated by Washington’s war-like demonizing of the Kremlin leadership and by Russiagate’s unprecedented allegations. US mainstream media accounts are highly selective and seriously misleading. American “disinformation,” not only Russian, is a growing peril.

In War With Russia?, Stephen F. Cohen—the widely acclaimed historian of Soviet and post-Soviet Russia—gives readers a very different, dissenting narrative of this more dangerous new Cold War from its origins in the 1990s, the actual role of Vladimir Putin, and the 2014 Ukrainian crisis to Donald Trump’s election and today’s unprecedented Russiagate allegations. Topics include:
  • Distorting Russia
  • US Follies and Media Malpractices 2016
  • The Obama Administration Escalates Military Confrontation With Russia
  • Was Putin’s Syria Withdrawal Really A “Surprise”?
  • Trump vs. Triumphalism
  • Has Washington Gone Rogue?
  • Blaming Brexit on Putin and Voters
  • Washington Warmongers, Moscow Prepares
  • Trump Could End the New Cold War
  • The Real Enemies of US Security
  • Kremlin-Baiting President Trump
  • Neo-McCarthyism Is Now Politically Correct
  • Terrorism and Russiagate
  • Cold-War News Not “Fit to Print”
  • Has NATO Expansion Made Anyone Safer?
  • Why Russians Think America Is Attacking Them
  • How Washington Provoked—and Perhaps Lost—a New Nuclear-Arms Race
  • Russia Endorses Putin, The US and UK Condemn Him (Again)
  • Russophobia
  • Sanction Mania

Cohen’s views have made him, it is said, “America’s most controversial Russia expert.” Some say this to denounce him, others to laud him as a bold, highly informed critic of US policies and the dangers they have helped to create.

War With Russia? gives readers a chance to decide for themselves who is right: are we living, as Cohen argues, in a time of unprecedented perils at home and abroad?

Fantastic Book! I have followed Stephen Cohen for a while and read all his books. This is undoubtedly my favorite, it has a good balance between history and current events. If you are interested in current events and want to get informed about Russia, which seems to be on the mind of everyone right now, buy this book.An indispensable account of our current misery This is the book to read, if you want to know how we got in this terrible mess. Nuclear War isn’t any longer a remote possibility, it might even be ‘highly likely’. Cohen, who warned in vain all along, tells how it happened, and who’s to blame. Lucid, intelligent, very illuminating and indispensable.Mr Cohen and I Live on Different Planets On the planet I live on, detente was a tactical strategy adopted by Nixon and Kissinger in a moment of weakness after the US defeat in the Vietnam War. With two equally powerful superpowers on the globe capable of mutually-assured destruction, detente was based on the idea that the USSR wasn't inherently evil and worthy of active opposition. Detente was abandoned by Carter after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. On Mr. Cohen's planet, detente is as appropriate a strategy today as it was in the 1970s. Only the situation is now vastly different: The former Warsaw Pact countries in Eastern Europe have switched sides and joined NATO Half of the former USSR is now independent from Russia. Cohen believes that detente remains the appropriate strategy for the last 50 years no matter what Russian has done. Abandoning detente in the wake of Afghanistan and Crimea is the wrong strategy, even though the former led to the US's greatest foreign policy success since WWII.On Mr. Cohen's planet, an aggressive trade pact offered by the EU prompted Mr. Yanukovich's downfall. On my planet, Mr. Yanukovich backed out of a highly popular trade deal negotiated over five years with two Ukrainian administrations. He backed out three days before signing. Since much of the public believed the deal offered a route to greater economic prosperity and less corruption, peaceful occupation of the Euromaidan began immediately. The situation was initially very similar to the peaceful Orange Revolution of 2004-5, that began after Yanukovich was declared a winner (by 3%) despite exit polling showing him losing by 11%. Only in 2013-2014, the government's efforts to remove the demonstrators turned violent. Mr Putin claims the demonstrators (500,000 on Dec 8) were merely hirelings of the CIA and Mr. Cohen doesn't challenge this claim. As the violence grew worse, the US and EU negotiated a settlement between Mr. Yanukovich and his political opponents, but by then it was too late. When publicly informed of the agreement by opposition leaders, the demonstrators (a coalition of many groups who had seen 50 killed the previous day) unanimously rejected the settlement and warned Yanukovich they would be coming for him tomorrow. The police had melted away, many officials had resigned and no one left was willing to protect Yanukovich. He fled to Russia that night. The next day Parliament voted 338-0 to declare the Presidency vacant (17 votes short of the constitutional 3/4), appointed an interim government and scheduled elections. Ignoring Yanukowich's complete lack of internal support and his flight, Cohen calls this a "coup" (p17). The same night Yanukovich fled, Putin launched the operation to seize Crimea and annexed it less than 1 month later. The US has recently undertaken questionable military operations in a number of countries beginning with Kosovo, but never without first taking the time to attempt to negotiate a peaceful settlement. In my world, Ukraine, Russia, the US and the UK signed the Budapest Memorandum pledging to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine in return for decommission Ukraine's nuclear forces. This agreement isn't found in the index of Cohen's book.On my planet, the evidence linking Putin to the assassination of Litvinecko, Nemtsov, and Politkovskaya and the attempt on the Skripals is strong and consistent with spending his formative years in the KGB. The naive view from Cohen's planet is presented on p 6 and 170.The worst sins in this book arise from its structure. The first 10 pages of the book comprise an overview, and the remaining 200 pages are paste ups of talks, articles and blog posts since 2014, and mostly since 2016. In most cases, these articles consist of Cohen defending Putin's position in response to breaking news. For example, we get Cohen's initial 12/15/16 response to reports that Russia hacked the DNC on p74-75, but we aren't told about the large amount of information collected since then, including reports that the Dutch had hacked into the Russian operation that hacked the DNC. Mueller has indicted several dozens Russians in connection with the break in. Cohen is supposed to be an important scholar and historian. He knows that biased first impressions from breaking news do not constitute history. This "scholarly work" was published to some organization called Hot Books, whose website was non-functional at the time of this review. The book covers contain only one ambiguous comment from a reviewer I don't recognize. The remaining comments are refer to Cohen's previous books. Praise from that Russia scholar Tucker Carlson is mentioned at Amazon. Cohen's previous books were publisher by major publishers. Apparently they agree with me that Cohen is the one living on a different planet.I bought this book hoping to hear a different perspective on our deteriorating relationship with Russia. I had doubts about the expansion of NATO into countries with large numbers of ethnic Russians - countries that need to reach compromises with their powerful neighbor. The Ukraine is a classic example. It has maintained a marginally separate national identity and language, but the east is predominantly Russian. Western Ukraine contains the Polish territory Hitler gave to Stalin and is anti-Russian. The Ukrainians twice drove the Red Army from Kiev during the civil war that followed the overthrow of the tsar. Millions of Ukrainians saw Hitler as a potential liberator of the Ukrainian people and Nazism is a powerful force in some areas. I was hoping to hear some nuanced and realistic information about these issues, not an apologist for Putin.

Keto Living Day by Day Free Pdf

ISBN: 1628602724
Title: Keto Living Day by Day Pdf An Inspirational Guide to the Ketogenic Diet, with 130 Deceptively Simple Recipes (1)

Kristie Sullivan was obese from the age of three. She'd tried everything to lose weight, even gastric bypass.  By the age of 45 she was desperate. When she discovered a ketogenic diet, her body finally started responding positively to her eating habits. Her lifetime of struggle was resolved by eliminating carbohydrates! Kristie Sullivan's passion is reaching out to others who struggle and helping them to learn why a ketogenic diet works, and how to make this a sustainable lifestyle.  Too many physicians recognize that carbohydrate restriction can work, yet they don’t prescribe it because they fear it isn’t sustainable.  Patient compliance is perceived as a primary barrier to success, and Kristie struggles to bridge that gap by showing that it's not only practical but sustainable for the rest of your life.

In her new book, Keto Living Day by Day, Kristie Sullivan brings you along on her inspiring journey to health and happiness through adopting a low-carb, high-fat lifestyle. She shares the failures she experienced when using today’s overly prescribed high-carb, low-fat (and also sugar-laden) diets and details how the ketogenic diet helped her lose more than 100 pounds! Kristie hopes that her story will inspire you to take charge of your own life and find your unique path to wellness. With her approachable and sensible philosophy and techniques, you too can use the keto template to overcome challenges, develop a truly healthy mindset, and shed unwanted pounds. Keto Living Day by Day will help you banish your fear of eating fat and embrace a scientifically proven and highly effective nutritional path.

Keto Living Day by Day offers a real-world approach to low-carb/keto dieting. Kristie walks you through every step, starting with a simple and easy-to-understand breakdown of the nutritional science behind keto. She provides examples to match many of the scenarios that people encounter when starting a ketogenic diet and offers solutions for each, enabling you to find the most successful path for your needs.

Section two of the book features a daily guide to help you make the keto way your way. Starting on day 1, Kristie shows you how to understand the challenges involved in making the transition, navigate around obstacles, and track your progress. She also offers tips for staying on course in social settings and when dining out, as well as foolproof ways to face down temptations. In addition, Keto Living Day by Day features a detailed preparation guide that includes advice on stocking your pantry with keto essentials and a day-by-day guide to implementing a ketogenic lifestyle. For maximum success, Kristie brings you her best tips for meal planning and preparation along with budget-friendly shopping guidelines.

Keto Living Day by Day concludes with more than 130 easy-to-love keto recipes that Kristie has used to nourish herself, her family, and her friends. These recipes are easy to follow and are designed for people who enjoy mouthwatering meals but want to minimize time spent in the kitchen.  The ingredients used in the recipes are readily available; most can be found at your local grocery store.

Sample recipes include:
  • Breakfast Pizza
  • Broccoli Cheddar Ranch Chicken Soup
  • Savory Ribs
  • Lemon Chicken
  • Moo Goo Gai Pan
  • Pepper Steak
  • Swedish Meatballs in Gravy
  • Vanilla Coffee Creamer

Keto Living Day by Day not only details Kristie’s inspiring journey, but also shows you how you can learn from her experience and use the keto template to lose weight and rediscover health.

A BOOK THAT SHOULD HAVE COME FROM THOSE PAID TO LOOK OUT FOR OUR WELL BEING. I absolutely love this book, it is really more than a cookbook, it is an explanation about why and how the KETO way of eating saves lives, and I mean that literally. Read the book and do your own research! I learned a few years ago not to trust "the experts" because they lie. Check out how fat became the bad guy in the mid to late 1960s and isn't it funny that's when so many people started becoming obese and diabetic brought to you by a company wanting to sell you their little white granulated product that was put in food to make it taste good since they took all the fat out. Through my research I found Kristie's You Tube videos and first cookbook (thank you Lord I can have biscuits and gravy again). I then found her Facebook Group where real people share real ideas and tips. She and her admins guide over 100,000 people to getting healthy and losing weight. I was impatiently waiting for this book to come out and was not at all disappointed! It gives a great overview of the KETO way of eating as well as tips to help you along the way. I found the part about "gaining and losing the same couple of pounds" very helpful, when she explained why that is and how to know that it continues to be progress it immediately took away my frustration. The recipes are easy and delicious, and the tips on eating out are very useful as well. Thank you for a great book to help those of us in transition back to a real way of eating instead of eating the garbage the "experts" have been recommending for decades that have done nothing good for us.Not only a game changer....but a life changer! Well, Christmas came early this year and I got my book "Keto Living Day - by - Day" by Kristie Huneycutt Sullivan. I got it through Amazon PRIME.Here's what I want to say....if you are struggling to understand the ketogenic diet, how it works, what you can and cannot eat. need a meal plan, need a grocery list....all of the questions....please buy her book immediately and give it a read. It's worth the money to spend on yourself to make your life so much better.Don't go straight to the recipes (I know that is tempting!), but read her story, how the keto diet works, understanding macros, etc....it is so good and will really give you a better handle of this way of eating (WOE) and the keto way of life. Her story is inspiring, encouraging and you will feel like she is talking directly to you, because she is! You will feel what she went through because most likely you have experienced it yourself and you will cheer her on as you see how this way of eating changed her life. It will give you hope and reassurance that it can do the same for you...and although the number of the scale sometimes doesn't move as quickly as we would like, that what you are on is a journey and not a sprint and that eventually if you keep at it, you will see your goals reached.Kristie Huneycutt Sullivan I know you put your heart and soul into this book and it is evident in each and every word. You owe it to yourself ladies and gentlemen to give this way of eating a true chance. Stay the course and you will see the results. Not just on the scale but the "day by day" victories you encounter.Much love from Houston, TX!Best purchase if you are considering the keto diet. Or even if you’re an old timer! What an inspirational and helpful book. 400 pages of useful and practical information. Over 200 pages of amazing recipes. If you are living the keto life or considering switching to this healthy way of life, get this book! Worth every penny and more!
